What is the SCA?

We regret to have to inform our devoted customers that we are having to take a break from Cote & Cutler for a little while.

Karl is doing his apprenticeship as a jeweller, and Bess is being Mum and keeping things together.

We've finally concluded that the best thing for everyone is for us to take some time out to consolidate, take some time to change the whole way we operate, and come back stronger rather than trying to struggle on as we have through a forced move of premises. We'll come back bigger and better and brighter than before!

The good news is that we won't have to move again unless it's on our terms.

The bad is that we now have a much smaller workroom for sewing commissions, and our casting and blade workshop requires a fair amount of work (and the small matter of some electricity) before we can really get it up and running properly again.

We'd like to reassure our clients that we will be back.

We aren't giving up.

And if you have current commissions in process that were thrown out of whack because of the move, we are working through our backlog as fast as we are able given the lack of facilities for the time being. Any concerns, please give us a ring on the above number, as this is now current and not going to change (We didn't even have a phone for a month, or internet for nearly six months up until January).

Please stay tuned to this site, because Bess has some plans up her sleeve, and she is working to bring to fruition as fast as she can.

Oh, and you might still be able to see us at the occasional Faire or event (like Rowany Festival, and maybe Melbourne Medieval Fayre 2008) with stock, so we won't disappear completely!

Thank you to all our customers and to our friends for their loyalty and support over the last three years. We couldn't have come as far as we have without you, and it's been an exciting journey for us all the way!

Sincerely yours,
Bess & Karl Cook and family.
