Overview

Interested in underwear in the 16th Century?

The development of hoods into hats from the 13th to the 15th?

What about the design of cutlery, buttons, or the cut of clothes in any time period over the last 1000 years?

Karl and Bess can tailor a range of workshops to suit your needs, whether it be simply a talk, or a full-blown pattern-making workshop. With a library of design resources at our fingertips, we can put together just about anything, from a one hour talk with costume examples for people to try on, to a full weekend of different classes related to your group's needs.

Past talks have included:

Corsetry - Boned vs Corded (extended to 3-4 hours, you could walk away with a pattern)

Wax Carving and the Casting Process

Tudor Costume: 1485-1600

Heraldic Display

Period Legs, and How to Hold them Up (a look at what you should be wearing on your legs, century by century)

Shield Construction in the 14th Century (Karl is the recognised world authority on this subject)

Fiddly little F***ers - a tongue in cheek look at the development of the codpiece, and its construction.

Make your own ceremonial Athamé

No Sweat campaign poster.

All of C&C's designs are made in Australia without the use of sweatshop labour. While this often results in a higher price tag, we prefer to offer quality assurance on our products without harming others to get it to you.

If you'd like to know more about the importance of eradicating the sweat-shop trade, please click on the picture above.
